Michael is a Certified Public Accountant with a Masters of
Accounting in Taxation from the University of Southern
California. Throughout his eight year public accounting career,
Michael developed an expertise in family wealth planning. In
1999, Michael began to put his financial and tax planning skills
to work for the University of Washington, where he served as an
Associate Director of Gift Planning for almost seven years.
While living in Seattle, Michael earned his Masters of Arts
degree in Pastoral Studies from Seattle University, and is a firm
believer in integrating a values based approach to financial and
philanthropic planning.
Jay Donoghue recently joined University Advancement as Director of Legacy Planning after a 25 year career in the financial services industry as an executive with Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney. Jay has extensive experience managing the careers of highly motivated and achievement oriented investment professionals. He also has a wide range of experience providing institutions and high net worth individuals with strategic financial and estate planning advice. Jay's background also includes significant service in the non - profit sector working with various organizations involved in helping families and children in need. Born in Berkeley, California and raised in Pasadena, Jay is a graduate of UCLA and currently lives in Irvine.
